CANEX operates a complete in-house powder coating line — one of the few aluminum extrusion facilities in Egypt to hold both QUALICOAT Seaside and AAMA certification simultaneously. The line processes profiles of up to 13 meters in length, applying polyester powder in any RAL color to profiles that emerge from our extrusion presses and enter the coating line without leaving the facility.
The process begins with a 9-stage chrome-free pretreatment tunnel — designed to EU environmental directives — that thoroughly cleans, etches, and chemically converts the aluminum surface before any powder is applied. This pretreatment stage is critical: it determines adhesion, corrosion resistance, and coating life far more than the powder itself.
We offer three durability grades — Standard, Super Durable, and Hyper Durable — allowing architects and engineers to precisely match coating lifetime to project exposure conditions. Color consistency is maintained through batch control, and custom RAL colors are available on request with sample approval.
CANEX's pretreatment tunnel is a chrome-free, environmentally compliant 9-stage process — matching or exceeding the requirements of QUALICOAT Seaside certification. No chrome compounds are used at any stage, in full compliance with EU REACH regulations.

CANEX offers three powder grades to match coating durability with project exposure conditions — from sheltered interiors to aggressive coastal environments.
Standard Durability
For interior applications and protected exterior locations with moderate UV and weather exposure. Typical service life 10+ years in sheltered conditions. Cost-efficient for most commercial interior projects.
Super Durable
For standard exterior exposure — facades, window frames, and curtain walls in normal urban or suburban environments. Enhanced UV resistance and color retention. Exceeds QUALICOAT Class 1 requirements. Typical service life 15+ years.
Hyper Durable
For aggressive coastal environments with salt spray, high UV, and humidity. Meets QUALICOAT Seaside class — the most demanding architectural coating standard. Specified for seafront buildings, marine structures, and Middle East exterior applications.

QUALICOAT is the leading international quality label for powder coating on architectural aluminum. The Seaside class is the highest level — specifically certifying that the coating system (pretreatment chemistry, powder quality, application process, and curing) meets the stringent requirements for environments with high salt content and aggressive exposure. CANEX is one of a small number of facilities in Africa and the Middle East to hold this designation.

The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) sets voluntary performance standards for coatings on architectural aluminum in North American markets. AAMA certification confirms that CANEX's powder coating system meets or exceeds these specifications — enabling CANEX-coated profiles to be specified on projects requiring AAMA compliance, including US and Canadian exports and international projects using North American design standards.
